Military unearths more LTTE weaponary in clearing operations - Mullaittivu

Sri Lankan Army troops of Task Force -2 (TF 2), TF -4, TF -5 and TF -8 have uncovered more hidden LTTE weaponry and bombs during search and clearing operations conducted at Mullaittivu, yesterday(July 8).

Extensive clearing operations are being continued in the liberated areas as troops set objective in the rapid resettlement of the displaced civilians under LTTE tyranny.

In general area Puthukkudiyirippu West, TF -2 troops uncovered 112 multi-purpose machine gun(MPMG) ammunitions, while TF -4 troops recovered 12 AP mines North of Kulamurippu.

Meanwhile, TF - 5 troops have also found 40x 60mm mortar bombs in general area Uliyankulama.

Similarly, more military hardware and media equipment was found by TF -8 troops in a search and clearing operations conducted East and West of Puthukkudiyirippu.
